The terrapin sports two tattoos: 150 Years UM logo and the Maryland State Motto, "fatti maschii parole femine" (strong deeds, gentle words). The front features the US flag with the Maryland flag on the back shell. The body is painted to reflect Diamondback Terrapin markings with faded historical map detail.
