This terrapin reflects the connection between the university and the state. The back shell features a tapestry of photos and illustrations of state symbols and images of life and landscapes from city, to farm, to the bay. The chests reflects university pride with a photo montage of icons representing areas of study, athletic events, prominent alumni and faculty and various UM accomplishments. His head is whimsically capped with a Black-Eyed Susan.
